A first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1998 NFL Draft, offensive guard Alan Faneca played 13 seasons in the National Football League.

During his 10 seasons in Pittsburgh, Faneca was named first-team All-Pro six times and won one Super Bowl.

After signing with the New York Jets, Faneca made the Pro Bowl both of his seasons in New York. His final season was played with the Arizona Cardinals and he started all 16 games.

If inducted, Faneca would join 15 other guards in the Hall of Fame — Lou Creekmur, Joe DeLamielleure, Forrest Gregg, Russ Grimm, John Hannah, Gene Hickerson, Stan Jones, Larry Little, Tom Mack, Bruce Matthews, Randall McDaniel, Mike Munchak, Jim Parker, Billy Shaw and Gene Upshaw.
